Here we are at the brink of a new beginning. Another year has come and gone. For many, 2016 was everything you hoped it would be. For others, this year has brought some new challenges.  Many of the things I was believing God for in 2015 manifested and other things were lining up to come into fruition.  While everything I hoped for didn’t realize in 2016, I feel so much closer to my dreams!

During the last weeks of the year I like to take the time to evaluate my goals, see what worked and make necessary changes.  I’ve heard a lot of people complaining that 2016 didn’t turn out the way they thought. Even though this may be true, it doesn’t mean you should give up on those desires and goals in 2017. Instead, you should stay the course and KEEP MOVING.  As you consider what efforts you made and what things you did well, you will probably find that you’ve made more progress than you think.  Remember, Rome wasn’t built overnight!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9

Many give up because things don’t happen in the timing they think it should happen.  But for some dreams, part of accomplishing the goal is laying the bricks.  What if 2016 was all about laying the brinks and planting the seeds? If you give up on everything you’ve done thus far because you don’t see it yet, all of your efforts will be in vain. That’s why Paul reminds us to not become weary in well doing.

As we prepare for 2017, I encourage you to keep going.  Although you were met with challenges this year, you survived! You are one step closer to your dreams if you stay the course and refuse to give up.  Use this time to do a dream check-up. If you’re not where you want to be yet, or you didn’t see everything you hoped to this year, stay encouraged. Don’t let disappointment distract you.  Keep striving, keep believing, keep moving towards your goals.

Commit to go into 2017 strong and dedicated to continue the good work you have begun!
